CASABLANCA TO THE BLUE CITY, FES, SAHARA & MARRAKECH
Experience Morocco’s highlights on this 7-day private tour, blending imperial cities (Rabat, Fes, Marrakesh) with the blue-washed charm of Chefchaouen and Sahara Desert adventures in Merzouga. Explore Casablanca’s Hassan II Mosque, wander Fes’ ancient medina, ride camels over Erg Chebbi’s golden dunes, and discover Todra Gorge’s dramatic cliffs. The journey culminates in Marrakesh’s vibrant souks and iconic landmarks before returning to Casablanca, offering the perfect mix of culture, history and desert magic in one unforgettable week.
Day 1: Casablanca to Rabat
Your adventure begins as we meet you at Casablanca Airport and take you to explore the city. You’ll visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque outside Mecca. Afterward, we’ll drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where you’ll see the iconic Hassan Tower and wander through the charming Oudaya Kasbah. You’ll spend the night in a cozy riad right in the heart of Rabat’s medina.
Day 2: Rabat to Chefchaouen via Rif Mountains
After breakfast, we’ll hit the road to Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue City.” Along the way, we’ll stop in Asilah, a coastal town known for its vibrant art scene—many of the medina walls are painted by artists from around the world. You’ll visit the Skalla fortress for breathtaking views of the ocean and medina. If time allows, we’ll drive through Tangier to get a feel for the city before continuing to Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fes
After breakfast, we’ll head to Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heart. You’ll spend the morning exploring the medina’s winding alleys, visiting landmarks like the Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), the Bouanania Madrasa, the tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain. After lunch, we’ll take you outside the medina to see the Royal Palace gate, stroll through the historic Jewish quarter (Mellah), and visit a pottery cooperative. The day ends with a panoramic view of the medina from a nearby fortress before settling into your riad for the night.
Day 4: Fes to Merzouga Desert
Today, we’ll journey southeast to the Sahara Desert. Our first stop is Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco,” followed by a visit to the cedar forests near Azrou, where you might spot Barbary apes. We’ll continue through Midelt and the Ziz Valley, with its stunning desert landscapes, before arriving in Merzouga. Here, you’ll hop on a camel and ride into the dunes to a desert camp. You’ll enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars and spend the night in a comfortable Berber tent with modern amenities.
Day 5: Merzouga to Dades Gorge
Wake up early to catch a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. Afterward, you’ll ride your camel back to Merzouga for breakfast. Then, we’ll drive to Todra Gorge, the tallest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. After lunch, you can take an optional hike through the fields, visit a traditional mud village, and meet locals. We’ll continue through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see unique rock formations called “monkey toes,” before settling into your hotel for the night.
Day 6: Dades Gorge to Marrakesh
After breakfast, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs,” with plenty of photo opportunities. We’ll stop in Kalaat M’gouna, famous for its rose products, and visit the Ameridil Kasbah in Skoura. Then, we’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakesh. In the evening, you can explore the lively Jemaa el-Fna square, filled with musicians, storytellers, and food stalls, before spending the night in a local riad.
Day 7: Exploring Marrakesh & Departure
After breakfast, we’ll explore Marrakesh, the “Red City.” You’ll visit iconic sites like the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the beautiful Majorelle Gardens. In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to wander or shop before we drive you to Casablanca Airport for your departure flight.
